Born in Guarujá, São Paulo, Brazil, Charles's training began at the age of twelve. Over the past 19 years, he has transformed himself into a must-watch fighter in the UFC, currently sitting third on the UFC Lightweight Rankings behind only Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje.
Oliveira is in the middle of an eight-fight winning streak, sitting on a 29-8-0 record. His dominant run in the Ultimate Fighting Championship includes 8 wins by knockout and 19 wins by submission.
do Bronx last fought in December of 2020 in a win by decision over Tony Ferguson, where he had 3 takedowns, 41 significant strikes, and 86 total strikes. Oliveira’s rise has caught the eyes and earned the respect of some of the UFC’s best. Nate Diaz, one of the UFC’s more popular fighters put Oliveira at the top of his wish list for competitors in 2021. And lightweight titleholder, and recently retired, Khabib Nurmagomedov praised the Brazilian’s win over Ferguson, citing him as one of the few fighters that would make him to come out of retirement, if ever.
It was recently announced that Oliveira will take on Michael Chandler for the Lightweight Title at UFC 262 in Houston on May 15th.
